The Getty is a bagelry located on Islington St in Portsmouth, NH, connecting the west end to downtown in an old gas station. Our goal is to make the best product in a very narrow category. Our bagels use a three-day process, starting with a biga, then a bulk ferment, and finally a bake. We want our sandwiches to have the same level of care as we put into the bagel itself.
We’re looking for a Line Cook to join our kitchen crew and help us execute breakfast, lunch, and Getty Nights service.
What You’ll Do:
- Prepare and execute menu items to established recipes, portion sizes, and quality standards.
- Keep the line moving during service and ensure timely, consistent plates.
- Handle daily prep such as house-made schmears, condiments, frying eggs, portioning salmon, and preparing bacon.
- Maintain a clean and organized station, adhering to food safety and sanitation guidelines.
- Monitor stock levels and let the team know about shortages.
- Assist with receiving and storing deliveries as needed.
- Work with the team on new menu items and seasonal specials.
What We’re Looking For:
- Minimum of 1 yr experience working in a professional kitchen
- Strong attention to detail and consistency
- Ability to stay calm and organized during a rush
- An understanding of food safety practices and kitchen cleanliness standards
- Ability to stand for 8-hour shifts
- At least 18 years of age with reliable transportation
- Flexible schedule, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
